Student Technology Consultant-CIRT - Student Asst 3

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO ALL ACTIVE UC MERCED STUDENTS (INCLUDING FEDERAL WORK STUDY ELIGIBLE).
 
Under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 employees are required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States (a list of acceptable documents to establish eligibility can be found here)

Job Description:
This position is a primarily researcher-facing role that involves understanding of computational research and computer programming.
Working with Cyberinfrastructure and Research Technology (CIRT) team and CIRT Sr. Research Computing Facilitator, the student research facilitator helps CIRT website up-to-date helps with maintenance and additions to the website, among other tasks.
·      Assist CIRT team in identifying and resolving technology issues
·      Have the ability to propose and determine the website content and layout from a thorough understanding of user experience
·      Create internal and external documentation for CIRT processes
·      Demonstrate basic proficiency in facets of web design and development
·      Under the guidance of Sr. Research Computing Facilitator, provide training and expertise to CIRT users
Other tasks as assigned
 
Qualifications:
 ·      Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
·      • Demonstrated problems solving and critical thinking skills to diagnose issues.
·      • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a diverse set of clients, including faculty, staff, students, and the UC Merced community.
·      Should have or be willing to learn basics of:
·      Web, multimedia design and audio-video editing.
·      Strong writing and editing skills
